Acceptable Use Policy and Conditions of Use
This policy is effective from 1rst November 2018 and replaces an earlier version of this document.
This Acceptable Use Policy and Conditions of Use (« AUP ») defines the rules and conditions that govern your access to and use (including transmission, processing, and storage of data) of the resources and services (« Services ») as granted by the vo.france-grilles.fr Virtual Organisation, hereafter referred to as the VO, with reference to use of the France Grilles and EGI Distributed Computing Infrastructures, hereafter referred to as the DCI.
The VO management, as detailed on the operation portal owns and gives authority to this policy.
Goal and description of the VO
The vo.france-grilles.fr VO is a multidisciplinary VO which provides general services and user support for using DCI resources in France.
Conditions of Use
- You shall only use the resources/services to perform work, or transmit or store data consistent with the stated goals, policies and conditions of use as defined by the body or bodies granting you access.
- You shall not use the resources/services for any unlawful purpose and not (attempt to) breach or circumvent any administrative or security controls. You shall respect French laws and confidentiality agreements and protect your credentials (e.g. private keys, passwords), sensitive data and files. You shall respect intellectual property and confidentiality agreements.
- You shall provide appropriate acknowledgement of support for your use of the resources/services provided in any published work (i.e. publication, patent, data, etc.) obtained using resources available in the VO. The following acknowledgement text can be used for this purpose (e.g. in scientific publications, patent, data, etc.): « Results obtained in this paper were computed on the vo.france-grilles.fr virtual organization of the EGI Infrastructure through resources from France Grilles. We thank EGI and France Grilles for providing the technical support, computing and storage facilities. ». Authors should:
- Reference the publications by registering them or at least declaring them as a notice in HAL (https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/)
- Ask to add these publications to France Grilles collection (https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/FRANCE-GRILLES) by sending HAL article reference and its title to publications-l@france-grilles.fr
- You shall keep all your registered information correct and up to date.
- You shall immediately report any known or suspected security breach or misuse of the resources/services or access credentials to the specified incident reporting locations and to the relevant credential issuing authorities.
- You use the resources/services at your own risk. There is no guarantee that the resources/services will be available at any time or that their integrity or confidentiality will be preserved or that they will suit any purpose.
- You agree that logged information, including personal data provided by you for registration purposes, may be used for administrative, operational, accounting, monitoring and security purposes. You agree that this logged information may be disclosed to other authorized participants via secured mechanisms, only for the same purposes and only as far as necessary to provide the services. The CNIL proof of receipt of data processing number is: 1618324 v0 (27/09/2012). In compliance with French Data Protection Act no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978, as later amended, every individual can obtain access to, and if necessary, rectification or deletion of the information concerning him/her, by writing to info@france-grilles.fr. You may also oppose, for legitimate reasons, the processing of your personal data.
- You agree that the body or bodies granting your access and resource/service providers are entitled to regulate, suspend or terminate your access without prior notice and without compensation, within their domain of authority, and you shall immediately comply with their instructions.
- You are liable for the consequences of your violation of any of these conditions of use, which may include but are not limited to the reporting of your violation to your home institute and, if the activities are thought to be illegal, to appropriate law enforcement agencies.
- The services offered by the VO may have a specific policy that completes those described in this document.
